Another Godsminute.com message....

Jesus said; "Come to Me, all you who labor
and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn
from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in
heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
( Matthew 11:28-30 *NKJV )

As you already know, it is hard to find any rest with so many
trials, tribulations, conflicts, and burdens in our lives today.
However when we follow Jesus, He will provide us with rest and
make our burdens lighter. For;
The LORD upholds all who
fall, And raises up all who are bowed down.
( Psalms 145:14 )

So when you feel stressed: Cast your cares on the LORD
and he will sustain you; He will never let the righteous
fall. After all; God is our refuge and strength, A
very present help in trouble.
( Psalms 55:12 ) & ( Psalms 46:1 )

Also remember that; Blessed is the man who
perseveres under trial, because when he has stood
the test, he will receive the crown of life that God
has promised to those who love him.
( James 1:12 )

Therefore; Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God
of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles.
Amen. ( 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 )

Love one another...as Jesus loves us!

Now these three remain: faith, hope and
love. But the greatest of these is love.
( 1 Corinthians 13:13 *NIV )

Dear John,
Faith comes from hearing the message, and the
message is heard through the word of Christ.
( Romans 10:17 )
Therefore it is written; Be faithful,
even to the point of death, and I will give you the
crown of life. ( Revelations 2:10 )

Hope is something we all need, for; Hope deferred
makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a
tree of life. ( Proverbs 13:12 )
Therefore; May the
God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you
trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit. ( Romans 15:13 )

As for Love, well; This is love: not that we loved
God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an
atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since
God so loved us, we also ought to love one
another. ( 1 John 4:10-11 )
So; Dear friends, let
us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and
knows God. Whoever does not love does not
know God, because God is love. ( 1 John 4:7 )

In closing, John, remember that a life filled with love, hope
and faith, receives the fruit of the spirit, and;
the fruit of
the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control. Amen. ( Galatians 5:22 )

Never underestimate the power of a brand- new day!

Jesus Love and mine!

Happy Mother's Day!

This message is dedicated to all Mother's

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

For this is what the Lord says; As a
mother comforts her child, so will I
comfort you;
( Isaiah 66:13 *NIV )

Dear John,
We can not measure the tremendous love that God
has for His Children in human terms. However, I do
believe the closest thing on Earth to that great love,
is the love a Mother has for her child!

Therefore, on this day we honor that special lady
in our life, our Mother. So;
May your father
and mother be glad; may she who gave you
birth rejoice! ( Proverbs 23:25 )
and may she
be filled with God's Love, Hope, Faith, and Peace today
and everyday!

The following was sent to me by one of our Brother's-
In-Christ, some time ago. I feel that it is appropriate to
share it with you today. It is called;

Why are you crying, Mom?

"Why are you crying?" he asked his Mom. "Because I'm a
woman" she told him. "I don't understand," he said. His
Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will"..........

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother
seem to cry for no reason? "All women cry for no reason"
was all his dad could say........

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering
why women cry...

Finally he put in a call to GOD; when GOD got on the phone
the man said, "GOD, why do women cry so easily?"
and GOD said.......

When I made woman, she had to be special. I made her
shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the World;
yet, gentle enough to give comfort....

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the
rejection that many times comes from her children......

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when
everyone else gives up and take care of her family through
sickness and fatigue without complaining......

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and
all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very
badly...

This same sensitivity helps her to make a child's boo-boo
feel better and shares in their teenagers anxieties and
fears.......

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults
and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.....

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts
his wife, but, sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve
to stand beside him unfalteringly.....

I gave her tears to shed. They are hers to use whenever she
needs them. They are her secret strength. They make her
more like ME.....

All My Love & Prayers,
Pastor Allen

The above is from www.godsminutes.com, Go to there site when you can.
On The Topic of Mothers Day, Word's, poems or other ways could not express my Love for my Family and the ways my Mother has been a helped me all these years of mine. I admit I don't understand it all, its really not ours to figure out, however, God's desire is for us to grow together, not apart. While my love at times may not have been expressed in ways others thought it should have been and at the time they thought it should have. You have to consider alot of factors. The times things happened, ours desires and dreams we had for ourself, things change over the years, but may our love for one another never grow old. God's Dream for us is so much greater, Even if we could only stop and give time to each other, other than just going to church together, most of that time is spent direct toward Jesus, our Savior, He is first if we make Him first. The Bible say's to "Seek first the Kingdom Of God and all these things shall be added unto you. I did not not know that verse early on. However it does not delete the fact the table has to be set, the food has to be prepared and the most importantly the provision for those things. As a child I hope I did things which were pleasing and loving in my Mother's site, I Thank the Lord Mom took me to church most of all, While at times we didn't go every week, we enjoyed each other with friends and family. Some Sundays we enjoyed drives around town and eatiing out, now some of those friends we do not see as often. Because we have forgotten some of the important things. We are not thinking most of all. They say love is blind, since some of the experiences I have had, my eyes are wide open so to speak. There are things I do my best not to do or say anymore, and believe me others are quick to judge in the things we say or haven't done or said in the past. Today is always a new day, I myself wonder if am I applying what I may have learned yesterday to make today better. I can't do the things God wants you to do for yourself, or the things you have brought about as your responsibility. I did not bring myself into this world, at the time I was my mother and father already had 10 years of experience with my sister. Yes God says in the word He knew us before He formed us in our Mother's womb. I was a God idea as well as you. Before my Mother or Father thought about having a Baby. My mother said she dedicated me to the Lord when I was born. Sometimes I wonder about things at those times what happened and why. I was born in Selma Alabama, I hope I write this with Conviction, I love all people regardless of ethnic origin or color. I have over time learned about Jesus and His Love for you and me. I love God above all, and family and friends come into the picture in that order. I am not everywhere for my friends, my family, those I attend church with. As I finish this post there is so much to say because my heart is heavy in so many ways you just would not know. As today and tomorrow comes most of all I wish you Love as Dolly Parton said in Her song "I will always love you"! I have shared over the years the love of Jesus for you and me through Tracts, on the web and things I have made such as positive T-shirts and Refrigerator Magnets. I have been through so much in my time here, tomorrow may never come in this time and space, however, it is still in God's hands. The world is searching it begins and ends with Jesus! Lets point our children toward the Savior Christ Jesus! When it comes down to things, alot really doesn't matter but our love for one another. Don't let money get in the way of things for the ones you love, until you have walked in someone elses shoes you don't know how or why they respond as they do. If I could have given alot of material things I wished and prayed I could give, it is not material things, allthough that is a expression, Hopefully it would have been from the heart, in whatever form it would have been or is to come in the future. Share love, and the things that matter most Faith, Hope and Love! Mom I do Love you! Lets forget yesterday, remember the good times. Forgive me for things I should have said or done, or other things I wished I could have provided. At this point I am relying on the Lord for all things, yes I have stuff, however the most I wish I could give is Agape Love, the love found in the light of Jesus, The maker of all things good! Mom you have been a gift to me! if You can only comprehend His love and mine! After all the grass doesn't get cut without me or someone else behind the mower, and I know the cooking doesn't get done either or the housework. Of course you haven't asked me to cook or clean, other than what I might have done even in those areas. When it comes down to it all, I can only give my love, and the love of Jesus, found in the bible. Happy Mother's day! Be blessed in every way! Everyone have a great mothers day! and attend the Church of your Choice! I would like to be with all my Family! miss ya'll! Heather, Jimmy, Sydney, Analise, Sandra and Buddy and to James Counts,- I hope your operation on your hip goes well, My love and prayers to you all! God Bless you!

To everything there is a season, A time
for every purpose under heaven.
( Ecclesiastes 3:1 *NKJV )

Dear John,
In this fast paced World we live in, patience has become a
lost art! We may even think that God isn't hearing our prayers
because they aren't answered instantly.

When you find yourself feeling that way remember to;
Rest
in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.
(Psalms 37:7)

Therefore John, why not slow down and practice patience,
as well as, take time to enjoy the simple things in life like just::

TAKING TIME
Take time to think...It is the source of
power.

Take time to play...It is the secret of
perpetual youth.

Take time to read...It is the fountain of
wisdom.

Take time to pray...It is the greatest power
on Earth.

Take time to love and be loved...It is a God-
given privilege.

Take time to be friendly...It is the road to
happiness.

Take time to laugh...It is the music of the
soul.

Take time to give...It is too short a day to be
selfish.

Take time to work...It is the price of
success.

Take time to do charity...It is the key to
Heaven.

Though our hearts are sad, God is smiling!

This post is to the recent passing of Hardy Walker a 81' Grissom Graduate and Alumnae of The University of Alabama and football player for them as well as His hometown school in Huntsville Alabama. Hardy is named the "Gentle Giant". It is said in the local newspaper this morning, His name reflected His character and He will be missed by family as well as His classmates. I remember many a friday night taking pictures of Him and His teamates playing football at our hometown stadium. I have pictures in my scrapbook of Him and His teamates to remind me of a kind individual that made a difference on and off the field. Today God is smiling as He recieved a beloved child of His to His eternal home on high. We to long for that great reunion with Him and others we have lost over the previous years, I to pray for such a time as that and some day soon we will all see Jesus! To those left here on earth, God's love and comfort is close. I know first hand with beloved family members and friends I have lost in the past. Let the Love of God comfort you and see you through whatever you may be enduring in your life at this time. God knows it all and how to heal our hearts in time.
May I leave you with these Qoutes:

Are you aware that the Father takes delight in you and that He thinks of you all the time?. - Jack Frost

How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! if i should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with Thee.  Psalm 139: 17-18 KJV

We encounter God in the ordinariness of life, not in the search for spiritial highs and extraordinary, mystical experiences, but in our simple presence in life. - Brennan Manning

Only God gives true peace - a quiet gift He sets within us just when we think we've exhausted our search for it.

We think God's love rises and fall's with our performance. It doesn't...He loves you for whose you are: you are His child. - Max Lucado

Words to make you Smile!

Think about some of the good things in life,
like sunshine, holidays, feeling loved, special friendships,
and laughter. Think about the rainbows, butterflies, and beautiful
sunsets and feel loved, cared about, and accepted, remember that
in life, although there is some bad stuff, good things really do happen too.
And then Smile!

A Very Present Help.....

He's Helping me now - This moment,
Though I may not see it or hear,
Perhaps by a friend far distant,
Perhaps by a stranger near.
Perhaps by a spoken message,
Perhaps by the printed word;
In Ways that I know and know not,
I have the help of the Lord.

He's keeping me now - this moment,
However I need it most,
Perhaps by a single angel,
Perhaps by a mighty host,
Perhaps by the chain that frets me,
Or the walls that shut me in;
In ways that I know not,
He keeps me from harm and sin.

He's guiding me now this moment,
In pathways easy or hard,
Perhaps by a door wide open,
Perhaps by a joy withholden,
Perhaps by a gladness given;
In ways that I know not,
He's leading me up to heaven.

He's using me now - this moment,
And whether I go or stand,
Perhaps when He stays my hand,
Perhaps by a word in season,
Perhaps by a silent prayer;
In ways that I know and know not,
His labor of love I share.

Day after Easter Sunday Prayer.....

Hope you had a great Easter Sunday Celebration of Our Lord's Finished Work on the Cross for the Salvation of the World. I had the opportunity over the weekend to spend time with my extended Family in Tennessee. Took Some Great Pictures along the way. I will eventually share them on my Photoblog at www.jrsblogspot.com. Check it out when you can! Now lets get to a prayer I have come across I would like to share with you. It is as follows:

O God of Easter,
God of Resurection power,
Bring heavenly life to our earthbound souls;

Thou, who dids't call Lazarus forth
 from his tomb,
Call us from Dead works,
and let our hearts be aglow with glory and power.

Call us out of the tomb of hollow profession,
Of cold creed, and wordy ritual,

And let Thy life abundant permeate and
saturate our stagnant souls,

Assigning joy where there is heaviness of heart,
Bring peace where there is confusion;
bring love where there is bitterness;
And may we henceforth live in the glorious glow of The Life
which that first Easter poured forth upon a world of darkness.

And may we always be mindful of the source of this life-giving power,
and come to Thee regularly to be refilled.

In the Savior's name. Amen.
